In the last part, I attempted to finish explaining the cyclic nature of this daunting and disruptive JU/ SA = PL alignment.

Today, we get the punchline, which is a list of historical manifestations of this alignment. As you will see, it’s basically a litany of revolutions, coups, and also sometimes good things.

HISTORICAL SYNCHRONIES

A cursory look reveals a list of dates that does not disappoint. A common thread amidst these dates involves occurrences that are revolutionary in nature, where, abruptly, societal orders and norms are overthrown, and power dynamics shift – coup d’états, more or less, though popular uprisings also constitute related events. Of course, not every coup or revolution that has ever happened is connected to this basic cycle, but some of the most important in recent history are represented.

The data is presented with dates if partiles, positions in the tropical zodiac, with PL first and then JU/SA, and then the spans of time the alignment was in the standard 1° orb. (These are my draft notes, so they may not be perfect.)

Moving retrograde through history:

ARAB SPRING

The Arab Spring was touched off by a Tunisian street vendor, Tarek el-Tayeb Mohamed Bouazizi, who set himself on fire on 17 December 2010, a mere two weeks after the partile alignment of JU/SA=PL on December 3. This would lead to a tumultuous few months in the Muslim world that would change the fortunes of many of the Islamic world’s entrenched leaders.

Protests quickly arose in Tunisia after the 17th, and quickly spread to other Muslim nations within the next month, including Oman, Yemen, Egypt, Syria, & Morocco. The Tunisian government was overthrown on 14 January 2011. On February 11, longtime Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak resigned, and by February 15, protests broke out against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in Benghazi, Libya, starting the uprising that would soon turn into the Libyan Civil War. On March 15, protests began in Syria, leading to the Syrian Civil War – a war that remains hot to this day.

In 2010, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto formed a T-square in the summer, which was “in orb” (<6*), and all three bodies were within one degree of orb for about a month in August, when Jupiter and Saturn reached exact, partile opposition on August 16:

Thus, the combination formula should be written as (JU-180-SA)=PL. The combination of JU/SA=PL was within one degree of orb from August 5 through December 27.

9/11 TERRORIST EVENT

It would be hard to understate the importance of 9/11 in terms of the resultant wars and state security changes within the USA. While the day of 9/11/2001 is three months beyond the JU/SA-PL partile on June 6, two nearly concurrent events should be discussed.

On May 24, Senator Jim Jeffords of Vermont broke ranks with the Republican Party and aligned with the Democrats, giving the USA Senate a 51-49 advantage, and breaking a 50-50 split that allowed Vice President Dick Cheney a tie-breaking vote on any legislation that was split along party lines. It was a bit of a coup for the Democrats, who had been courting Jeffords and other Republicans to break ranks with their party over the Bush/Cheney regime.

On June 1 – 4, a military exercise called “Amalgam Virgo” took place that mimicked a scenario that was similar to the Pentagon facet of 9/11. The exercise included AWACS assets, NORAD, and air traffic control – systems that were allegedly “confused” on the day of 9/11. “Amalgam Virgo” is a favorite citation of the “conspiracy theory” and “9/11 Truther” crowd that gained momentum in the years after 9/11.

It should be said that Saturn and Pluto formed a partile opposition in early August of 2011, and astrological scholars, most notably Rick Levine, were wary of this opposition well before 9/11; Levine has continually pointed to this opposition as part of a sequence of Saturn/Pluto alignments that have coincided with major wars.

RUSSIAN “OCTOBER REVOLUTION” and END OF USSR

JU/SA=PL was in orb from October 11 through November 12.

While the USSR began formally as a state in 1922, it was the revolutions of 1917 that overthrew the Czar and Romanov rule, and ushered in the Communist Era. Street protests in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) in February and March of 1917 succeeded in supplanting old order, and installing an ad-hoc parliamentary government that included both the proletariat and the bourgeois, as Jupiter and Saturn were in their waning square. Vladimir Lenin’s efforts later in the spring and summer were actually a revolution within a revolution, as he sought to remove the bourgeois from the equation, and finally succeeded by securing Petrograd and Moscow in late October and early November.

Dissatisfaction with the Great War, and the resultant food shortages that the people were forced to endure for the war effort, are cited as the cause for the original revolution. When the USA entered the war in April of 1917, the equation for the Entente had shifted. After the Bolsheviks seized a coalition of Soviet support, Russia endured a bitter civil war that lasted until 1922, wherein Lenin seized total power of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or the USSR.

The USSR would endure for another seven decades, until the dissolution of the USSR, officially, on December 25, 1991, though the dissolution of USSR satellite states took place, mostly, between August and December. Boris Yeltsin was elected president of Russia in June; Mikhail Gorbachev dissolved the Communist Party in August; the UN admitted the Baltic states in September, and Ukraine declared independence in early December.

Thus, it could be argued that the Communist Revolution that took power in 1917 under the influence of SA/JU=PL also became defunct under the influence of another SA/JU=PL, after yet another popular revolution.

FALKLANDS WAR

The Falklands War between Argentina and the UK lasted for only 74 days (April 2 through June 14, 1982), and in a kind of reversal of what we might expect from a period of JU/SA=PL, the rightist Argentine military dictatorship that ruled through state terrorism was subject to mass protests in the aftermath of the war, and by 1983, had stood down almost completely. Argentina then returned to civilian control with free elections and neo-liberal policies.

BUSH SOFT COUP IN THE WHITE HOUSE

When former* CIA Director, and Skull and Bones alumnus George H. W. Bush was elected as Ronald Reagan’s Vice President in 1980, it was an unlikely rise to power for a faction within the Republican Party that was often at odds with the Reaganites.

Shortly after the March 30, 1981 assassination attempt on Reagan took place, the culprit, John Warnock Hinkley Jr., was discovered to have ties to the Bush family, and it was theorized that Hinkley Jr. was a sort of “Manchurian Candidate” that was put in place to perform a coup against the White House.

If so, this coup failed, but George H. W. Bush took over operations at the White House while Reagan convalesced. Already going on, covertly, was a fledgling effort to arm the Contras in Honduras, partly with the sale of arms, again covertly, to the Khomeni regime in Iran.

To aid these ends, special secret committees were established around Bush’s inner circle of operatives. “On May 14, 1982, Bush’s position as chief of all covert action and de facto head of U.S. intelligence – in a sense, the acting President – was formalized in a secret memorandum.

The memo explained that “National Security Decision Directive 3, Crisis Management, establishes the Special Situation Group (SSG), chaired by the Vice President. The SSG is charged … with formulating plans in anticipation of crises… the memo in question also announced the birth of another organization, the Standing Crisis Pre-Planning Group (CPPG), which was to work as an intelligence-gathering agency for Bush and his SSG… it was announced that the CPPG would meet for the first time on May 20, 1982 [in the Situation Room] and that agencies were to “provide the name of their CPPG representative to Oliver North, NSC staff…. The memo … was declassified during the congressional Iran-Contra hearings.” (Tarpley, 387-8.)

Thus, it can be argued that, in true Plutonian fashion, a second, this time secret, coup against the Reagans, this time administratively successful, was carried out. One of Bush’s last actions as President, after losing the 1992 election, was to pardon all the players in the Iran-Contra scandal.

WATERGATE

Though the Watergate scandal began, in essence, on June 17, 1972, when Republican Party operatives (the Plumbers) were caught bugging the Democratic Party’s National Committee offices in the Watergate office complex in Washington DC.

The trial for the “Watergate Seven” began in January of 1973. Five of the seven entered guilty pleas, but on January 30, the remaining two operatives, G. Gordon Liddy and James W. McCord Jr., who had pled not guilty, were convicted of conspiracy, burglary and wiretapping.

On February 7, The Senate voted 77-0 to create the Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities, which would hold hearings on the scandal. By May 25, former Solicitor-General, Archibald Cox, is sworn in as the Justice Department’s special prosecutor for Watergate.

As we all know, Nixon was out by next summer, but in the meantime, Kissinger and the CIA were stoking the flames of overthrow in Chile.

BRAZIL COUP D’ÉTAT (not finished with this yet, sorry.)

IRANIAN COUP D’ÉTAT

JU/SA=PL was in orb from August 15 through September 8.

The first time the USA’s intelligence establishment overthrew a foreign government was in 1953, in Iran. Oil nationalization, coupled with instability in the Iranian legislature, led to a CIA-backed coup over Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh on August 15 – 19, 1953. This overthrow empowered the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, instituting a monarchial military dictatorship, and freeing up Iranian oil reserves that were blockaded by the UK. The coup has remained a sore spot in the Persian consciousness ever since, and is used to justify theocratic Islamic regime that has been in place since the Khomeini revolution of 1979.

V-2 ROCKET

JU/SA=PL was in orb from September 1 through September 17.

While World War II was raging on, and the USA had begun marching across Axis-controlled Europe, the Nazi regime decided to begin using long-range rockets they had developed, called the V-2, to bombard Allied nations. Though the first V-2’s were inaccurate and initially caused minimal damage, this was the first use of long-range rocket technology that could escape the earth’s atmosphere and return to deliver warheads. The first V-2 was aimed at England, and landed on September 8, 1944. From that date, 3,172 V-2’s were used against the Allies, killing thousands of civilians, mostly in London and Belgium.

Though the USA’s atomic bomb is credited with finally ending the conflict, it was rocket technology that eventually allowed nuclear warheads to be delivered via ICBM’s to virtually any location on the globe.

The V-2 program is the basis for all rocketry technology for the 20th century, and the basis of all space exploration and military launch vehicles.

Jupiter and Saturn were in a sextile, thus, (JU-60-SA)=PL

SPANISH CIVIL WAR

JU/SA=PL was in orb from January 11 through January 23.

Although fascism had taken hold in Italy and Germany by 1936, it was the Spanish Civil War that became the theater of proxy fighting by outside fascist regimes in aid of Francisco Franco, a loyalist to the Spanish monarchy.

Unrest was sparked after a coalition of left-wing political groups formed the “Popular Front” in January of 1936. Popular Front leader Manuel Azaña formed a government after the coalition won the election in February, partly encouraged by Stalin. In July of that year, conservative monarchist forces instigated a coup d’état, and factional fighting broke out, lasting until 1939 when hostilities quelled. Franco ran Spain as a dictatorship until his death in 1975.

YOUNG TURK REVOLUTION

JU/SA=PL was in orb from December 15,1908, through April 26, 1909.

In Turkey, the seat of the Ottoman Empire, a group of young democratically-minded reformists called, colloquially, the “Young Turks,” led a popular rebellion in the summer of 1908 that sought to bring liberal, modernizing reforms to the economically catatonic empire. After that success, parliamentary gains were formalized in elections during November and December, and a “Second Constitutional Era” commenced.

The gains were short-lived, however, as a counter-coup was launched the Sultan, and the dictatorial Ottoman powers regained control. This could not stop the decline of the Empire, and succeeding wars, coupled with an imploding financial system led to the eventual end of the Empire in 1922, and Turkish independence. This was also the end of the Caliphate, and with it political control of Islam.

Jupiter and Saturn were in a quincunx, thus, (JU-150-SA)=PL.

BOXER REBELLION

BOER WAR (1889 – 1902)

The Boxer Rebellion in China is dated from 1899 to 1901. Brought on by the economic and social suppression of foreign powers, and the distaste of Christian hegemony in China, a youth uprising sought to oust Europeans from the Chinese mainland.

The uprising led to an eventual cessation of direct European rule over the Chinese, though it did weaken the ruling dynasty enough for the Japanese to fill the vacuum.

JU/SA=PL was in orb from December 31, 1899, through January 11, 1900, and then from June 21, 1900, through July 21, 1900, and then from September 18, 1900, through October 8,1900. Jupiter and Saturn are within 30 degrees of each other during the duration.

The USA’s first international war took place in the Mediterranean on the Barbary Coasts, pitting the young nation’s navy against Muslim nations that formed the Tripolitania, namely Tunis, Algiers, Tripoli, and also the independent Sultan of Morocco. Though the US Congress never formally declared war, the Pasha of Tripoli declared war on the USA on May 10, 1801. Congress soon allocated funds for President Jefferson to fight the war, and hostilities were brought to a close in 1805.

JU/SA=PL was in orb from October 23,1801, through November 9, 1801, and then from January 3, 1802, through February 7, 1802, and then from July 21, 1802, through August 2, 1802. Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct and opposite of Pluto during this period, thus, (JU-0-SA)=PL.

The First Continental Congress that brought together Colonial America under the UK to seek home rule convened in September of 1774. Eight months later, the so-called “Shot heard ‘round the world” of April 19, 1775, set off the Revolutionary War, and the rest is, as they say, “history.”

GALILEO PUBLISHES SIDERIUS NUNCIUS

“Sidereus Nuncius,” Galileo Galilei’s short book on astronomy, was the first published scientific work based on observations made through a telescope. It “hit the stands” on March 13 of 1610. The work was revolutionary in that it upended long-standing theories about the nature of the heavens, and challenged religious orthodoxy about humanity’s place in the cosmos. Siderius Nuncius, therefore, is one of the most revolutionary books ever published.

COLUMBUS’ FIRST VOYAGE

Columbus set sail to find the Western passage to the East in August of 1492, reaching what would be called Hispanola in October, but his preparations for the journey began in earnest on April 17, when he concluded his agreement with the Spanish court to find a new spice route to the east. Soon after, hundreds of voyages to the “New World” would take place, and the great Aztec empire would fall.

The Poor Knights of Christ, who later evolved into the Knights Templar, were organized locally in Jerusalem in 1119, but received sanction from the Vatican during the Council of Troyes in January, 1129. No specific date is known for a decree or bull from Pope Honorius II, but we do know that Templar founder Hugh de Payns testified to the Council on January 13, 1129, and thus the Pope (who was not at Troyes) could have acted within a few months.

When the Templars fell in disrepute in the early 1300’s, they were besieged by arrests and imprisonments in France after the notorious October 13 shakedown by Philip the Fair, but it was not until April 3, 1312, that Pope Clement V formally disbanded the knightly order for good.

Perhaps the most important invasion of England was the Norman invasion of 1066, in which Duke William II of Normandy thrust through English defenses in short order after landing on the south coast on September 28, and was crowned King of England on Christmas Day, 1066.

This invasion led to centuries of Frankish rule in England, changed the destiny of Saxony England.

SIEGES AND DESTRUCTIONS OF JERUSALEM /JEWISH DIASPORA

On two occasions, the Babylonian strongman Nebuchadnezzar II conquered and seized Jerusalem during the Jewish-Babylonian war that lasted from 601-586 BC. The first siege was in 597 BC, in which Nebuchadnezzar II installed a puppet king named Zedekiah, after which he deported as many as 10,000 Jews to Babylon.

A second siege took place after Zedekiah broke ranks with Babylon and aligned with the pharaoh of Egypt. This time, the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem, and most of the remaining population was taken captive and sent to Babylon in 587 BC.

Scholars have debated the precise dates for the collapse of the Bronze Age after the invasions of the “Sea Peoples.” This was a collapse on an international scale, and many centuries passed before a global civilization became the norm.
