It’s been a busy time around here at OM, as we (meaning me and my cat) have been watching closely the transition in Vatican City from one pope to the next. I have no personal stake in the religion, but my work, On The Exaltation of Mars, is partly based on the previous highly unusual papal transition in 2013, and so my astro-reputation is totally at stake.
There is much to cover, and I will be droning on about this in a new post after this one, which is more of a teaser.
We here at OM (meaning me and my cat) were delighted to see events unfolding that tended to bolster my thesis of how some very special astrological phenomena 2028 years ago were encoded into the mythological gospels well after the fact, and that those phenomena are actually understood, and even revered, by the inner circles of the Vatican. (Yes, the pope dying was a very good thing for me.)
I posted a short astrological essay about the time-stamping of the death of FRANCISCVS here, which seems to be a coded astrological message rather than an actual time of death. (I suggest this be read prior to the rest of this post.) After that, I awaited the timing of the rest of the transition to a new Papacy.
This year’s selection process went quickly, and that was the conventional wisdom, given that most of the electors were chosen by Pope Francis. The AP published this handy graphic:

As we all know, the new pope was announced on May 8. There is much for a new pope to do after accepting the position, and eventually he has to perform a mass – an “inaugural mass” – that in many ways is similar to an inauguration of any other elected head of state, as it is a formal ceremony that begins the work in earnest. This mass is scheduled for 10 am on May 18, at the Vatican:

Of obvious note in this chart is the conjunction of Sun and Uranus – always good for new endeavors – but in case of the Catholic Church, the planetary guide to the 84-year cycle of Easter dates, something Benedict XVI signaled when he suddenly announced his renunciation of his office in 2013.
The other heavenly body we are always highly concerned with is the Moon, and we find it posited in the first degree of Aquarius. Mundane astrologers will recognize this degree as the location of the Sun in the charts for USA presidential inaugurations that are legally mandated to be held on January 20 of the year after a presidential election.
This degree of Aquarius was also the location of the Sun in my theoretical chart for the “conception” (Annunciation) of the Savior, which I contend is the heliacal rising of Venus in 3 BC. When we compare the charts, some highly significant interchart conjunctions become apparent:

- Inaugural Mass Moon = Conception Sun
- Inaugural Mass Sun -120- Conception Ascendant
- Inaugural Mass Ascendant = Conception Descendant
- Inaugural Mass Mercury -180- Conception Mars
- Inaugural Mass Venus = Conception Moon
- Inaugural Mass Mars -90- Conception Mars
- Inaugural Mass Jupiter -150- Conception Venus
- Inaugural Mass Saturn -90- Conception Jupiter
- Inaugural Mass North Node -60- Conception Venus
All of this is made more interesting with Inaugural Mass Saturn and Conception Jupiter right on the cardinal points of 0° Aries and 0° Cancer, respectively, with 0° Aquarius being in a cozy sextile to 0° Aries.
One could say that those Cardinals in the Conclave were making some cardinal points! (Oh, please, forgive me father for I have punned!)
Either this is all an astrological miracle, or it’s some good old fashioned ritual astrology.
Finally, for now, I also wanted to point out that the elapsed time from the death of Francis to the Inaugural Mass of Leo XIV is just shy of one lunar return, with the precise return at about 2:35 pm on the 18th (I’m using parallax values here; the geocentric lunar return is about an hour earlier):

Note also that the two ascendants are in a 60° sextile aspect, and the the Sun has moved across the original ascendant to conjoin with Uranus.
There is much more to be said about all of this, as there are many more layers of ritual astrology to be delineated, but in closing, I want to declare this little conspiracy theory:
Pope Francis died by assisted suicide, in order to begin the succession process with a preferred ritual astrology.
I know that such a claim will alarm and/or anger the faithful, but I am not saying this lightly, or with any kind of malice. It just seems to me that all of this has been choreographed to a level of precision that would be highly unlikely if left to random chance. I will explain this in more detail very soon. If my claim is true, then I do see it as a very loving and gracious final act by a pontiff who lived and died with humility and purpose, and who, in some sense, allowed himself to be crucified for the sins of the inner sanctum.
