On the Exaltation of Mars – Chapter 1.2 – The Pope Emeritus and the Jesuit from Argentina

The Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and Pope Francis in 2022.

As we learned in Ch 1.1, Benedict XVI announced his resignation from the Papacy on an important anniversary for the Vatican, and that this anniversary has astrological and calendrical implications which seem to be far from coincidental.

He announced that he would step down officially on February 28 of 2013 at 8 PM local time. Within another 13 days a new Pope would be elected by the conclave, though Benedict XVI had no control over the timing of that.

These three central moments are well-timed, and astrology charts can be cast for them:

  • Renunciation: 02/11/2013, 11:40 am
  • Resignation: 02/28/2013, 8:00 pm
  • Pope Francis Elected: 03/13/2013, 7:05 pm

But before we do, a bit of astro-splaining is necessary.
